A Study of the Incorporation of Coconut Meat and Some Local Feeds in Swine Rations

Using copra as a substitute for commercial feeds is not very promising but presents an opportunity to utilize the locally-available feed materials. Rations incorporating high levels of coconut and cocoyam in the diet were formulated and their efficiency levels in pork production were evaluated.

Response of Low-yielding Coconut Trees to Aluminum Sulfate, Potassium Chloride, and Dolomite in Barangay Buenavista

On-farm demonstration trials were designed to test responses of coconut trees to several fertilizer levels and the levels which would bring about optimum profits.

Utilization of Coconut Sap (tuba) for Wine Production

The study aimed to produce quality wine from fresh, unfermented coconut sap. Sensory evaluation of the products from the different treatments revealed that 5% bubod in combination with 1% tañgal bark was given the highest score for taste and general acceptability.

Genetics of Coconut 1: The Genetic Systems Controlling the Makapuno Endosperm and Other VISCA Proj.

The project aims to further elucidate the genetic and biochemical control mechanisms regulating the aberrant growth of cells in the makapuno endosperm.

Pilot Scale Production of Dried/Dehydrated Young Coconut Meat (Buko)
January 8, 1983

The economic feasibility of producing dehydrated buko on a commercial scale was determined. The production of sweetened dehydrated buko using the Jubilee fruit dehydrator of UPLB was economically feasible.
