Makapuno Workshop and Seminar
1997

PCRDF conducted the “Seminar-Workshop on Makapuno Development and Market Trends.” Two workshop sessions – (1) Market Policies, Product Specifications and Standards; and (2) Market Promotions, Technology, and Processing Development of Makapuno – helped identify the areas needed for technology advancement and development to help improve the rising makapuno industry.

State-of-the-Art Production of Vinegar from Coconut Sap
1997

A study was done to determine the effect of pasteurization to the keeping quality of coconut sap vinegar. Results showed that the acidity and the sensory qualities of vinegar are maintained on storage when it is pasteurized at 65°C for 30 minutes.

Bookwriting: Bamboo
1997

PCRDF came out with a special issue on bamboo. It aims to update the coconut farmers on the “Grass of Life” which is almost always present in coconut farms in the Philippine landscape.

Monolaurin Studies
1997

A clinical study was conducted to determine the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of monolaurin as a non-drug approach to treat HIV infection. Preliminary analyses strongly suggest an anti-retroviral potential of monolaurin.

Coconut Industry History
1998

The Coconut Industry History provides a chronological database on the history of the coconut industry. A glance on the past of the history is a necessary and effective tool to understand its present situation and to foresee its future.
